Maison Margiela

Margiela Matière Blanche is Maison Margiela's ephemeral curate launched in Rinascente Milano. The capsule collection explores the practice of whiteness and the continued focus on the properties of white, key to the Maison's genetics. The genderless wardrobe is a collage of current and reprinted items from the Co-Ed and Icons collections.

The collection is housed within white tulle and mesh veil canopies embroidered with the Maison's logo, while representations of the use of white are displayed in micro and macro bell jars, an emblematic object in Maison Margiela's history. Rinascente debuts the collection during Milan Fashion Week in February 2023 on the -1 floor of the luxury department store, known as Design Supermarket, along with the takeover of the windows, which are completely painted white. The collection was set up on the Air Snake, the unique installation that meets design and a visual merchandising innovation presented by Rinascente in 2022: the structure, designed by Aldo Cibic, consists of a 53-meter steel track.
